Nocturnal Animals – Zoo Tourist Deal
Here’s one for you travel animals coming into the Philly area between now and April 15. (Yes! Get away before tax day!)
The Sheraton University City Hotel is offering a special in conjunction with the Philadelphia Zoo (first zoo in the country, doncha know?). For as little as $219 a night, visitors can bag overnight accommodations, two adult tickets for the zoo, a zoo map, a 10 percent off coupon for any zoo shop, the zoo’s “insider tip” sheet, two cab vouchers and a zoo pencil. You’ll also receive a fun scavenger hunt to do in the zoo and bring back to the hotel for a special surprise. Heck, they’ll even throw in a disposable camera so you can capture your day with the giraffes, the lorakeets and (my personal favorites) the orangutans.
To get in on this wild adventure, go visit the Sheraton web site and be sure to use the code ZOOPKG when booking.

Let’s Stay Overnight!
At these prices, you can’t afford not to stay in Philly this spring. From March 10 to May 21, the Alexander Inn is offering rooms from Thursday through Sundays for just a buck. Yep, you read that right – prime time weekend lodging for what it costs to get medium fries off the Super Value menu.
And the Inn has a great locale, too, for your visiting guests (or just to get out of the suburbs for a night!) It’s only minutes away from the Avenue of the Arts, Pennsylvania Convention Center, Antique Row and the Independence Hall area.
Of course, there are a few cavaets – but no small print! The rooms are limited and will be confirmed on a first come, first serve basis in advance. Guests are only permitted one reservation at this rock bottom price and cannot reserve multiple rooms (you know, share the wealth!). Credit cards will be charged for rack rate, but all but a dollar will be returned at check out.
Make your reservations now at the Inn or by telephone at 215-923-3535 or tollfree at 1-877-253-9466.

A Little Philly Love (Lots of Value Everywhere)
The good folks at The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC) sent a long a bunch of bargains, which I’m going to be sharing with you in the next
few posts/days. The good news is the latest campaign is all about Philly Love – that’s Lots of Value Everywhere – which, of course, is just what we need when trying to live big on a small budget.
Here’s a deal for visitors – the popular Philly Overnight Hotel Package is now even better, thanks to extra incentives connected with the LOVE campaign. The package still offers two nights at one of more than 30 great city hotels, including free parking (now that’s a deal!), a Philadelphia Privileges coupon book and a Philly’s More Fun teddy bear (which will save on buying a souvenir for the kiddies).
But now, 100 lucky hotel package buyers will receive the extra special honor of being named “Philly Guest of the Day.” These randomly-selected guests will receive a bunch of good stuff, including attraction and museum tickets, hotel upgrades and gift certificates. But hurry – this promotion ends on March 16.
Read more about the Overnight Hotel package – or book a getaway of your own – here.
